Honour ?
This was the thought which came to my mind many times.
Is it required for to display your identity all the time? Is that "extra safety" or something else? It may not be intentional all the times, with every one. But I have seen that with many people in Bangalore.
I am not talking about the goodies like backpacks or shirts bearing company logos. You have to use them, but the identity cards which hang around the necks of many people "most of the times". I can understand some one inadvertently stepping in with the strap around neck into a grocery shop while returning from work. I would term it "inadvertent" if they removed it from neck and preserved it in pocket after they realize that they have it still on outside the office.
I see people walk merrily in MG Road or Commercial street with Id cards "prominently" displayed(mostly hanging around the neck).
I have always wondered what makes someone do what they do, but I write this today after I read an interesting musing in Deccan Herald today.
