As mentioned by Kousik Lepakshi cannot be complete without explaining about the paintings it is famous.

It is quite surpsrising that such delicate painting could be made on the roof. This would have taken a lot of time(may be years) to complete the paintings. No wonder they stll mesmerise people after 500 years
